In machining production, micro-diameter drills are both precise and fragile. How to enhance cost-performance, extend tool life, and ensure machining quality is a pressing challenge for every factory. Through this challenge, we aim to gather more technical experts and hands-on practitioners to tackle this industry pain point with practical, actionable solutions.

Current Situation
Combination of pilot drill + deep hole drill. Deep hole drills occasionally break during machining.
Normal life of deep hole drill: ~2500 pcs; pilot drill: ≥ 4000 pcs.
Machining parameters:
Pilot drill: Drilling depth 4mm; Vc = 34 m/min (S9000); F = 230 mm/min (Q0.5)
Deep hole drill: Drilling depth 30mm; Vc = 34 m/min (S9000); F = 230 mm/min (Q0.5)
Challenge Requirements
Improve cost-performance by ≥10%, with tool life stable and no less than 90% of the original.
Surface quality and appearance must meet drawing requirements.
Machining efficiency must be maintained.
